Meet the Lewis & Clark Principal

Hello Lewis and Clark Learning Community,

My name is Danny Wirtzberger.  I grew up in Havre, Montana and attended schools there K-12.  I graduated from Havre High School  in 2002.  I went Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND from 2002-2004 on a football and baseball scholarship.  I studied Elementary Education and was an All-Conference Quarterback for the Jimmies.  I transferred to MSU-Northern in 2004 and studied Elementary Education and Physical Education while playing football for the Northern Lights.  I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education with an emphasis in Coaching in 2007.  I accepted a position as Fourth Grade Elementary Teacher for Havre Public Schools in 2007.  I taught and coached football, softball, and baseball in Havre for 7 years.  In the later part of my tenure in Havre I became the Technology Coordinator for HPS.  In 2014, I accepted a position as the Athletic Director of Laurel High School.  In my two years in Laurel, the Locomotives won three state championships and multiple divisional awards.

I have finally found my home here in Lewistown!  I am happy to join the team at Lewis and Clark Intermediate School.  I have found the educators here are some of the best in the state and I am happy to join their team.  A walk threw our school will prove to be a safe and friendly Learning Community.  Our team is second to none because all of our decisions are  made with the best interests of students in mind.  Currently, we are in the process of purchasing 120 Chromebooks for our students.  Our educators are searching for professional development opportunities to implement the devices in their classrooms.  All while creating a student friendly environment that is safe to learn and ask questions!

My home life is busy as well!  I am happily married to my middle school sweatheart, Katie.  We were married on July 7, 2007 in Havre.  We have three beautiful children.  Tripp (8) is a third grader in Mrs. Udelhoven's class, Blake (5) is in Kindergarten with Ms. Standley, and JC (3) will be starting Pre-School this year.
