Meet the Lewis & Clark Principal

Hello Lewis and Clark Learning Community,

My name is Danny Wirtzberger.  I grew up in Havre, Montana and attended schools there K-12.  I graduated from Havre High School  in 2002.  I went Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND from 2002-2004 on a football and baseball scholarship.  I studied Elementary Education and was an All-Conference Quarterback for the Jimmies.  I transferred to MSU-Northern in 2004 and studied Elementary Education and Physical Education while playing football for the Northern Lights.  I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education with an emphasis in Coaching in 2007.  I accepted a position as a Fourth Grade Elementary Teacher for Havre Public Schools in 2007.  I taught and coached football, softball, and baseball in Havre for 7 years.  Later in my tenure in Havre I became the Technology Coordinator for HPS.  In 2014, I accepted a position as the Athletic Director of Laurel High School.  In my two years in Laurel, the Locomotives won three state championships and multiple divisional awards.

I have finally found my home here in Lewistown!  I am happy a part of the team at Lewis and Clark Intermediate School.  I have found the educators here are some of the best in the state!  A walk threw our school will prove to be a safe and friendly Learning Community.  Our team is second to none because all of our decisions are  made with the best interests of students in mind.  In 2019, Lewis & Clark started a bond project that added seven classrooms, including a new library and gym/muti-purpose room.  Since 2024, we have added fourth grade into Lewis & Clark.  It has been a breath of fresh air having 10 year old's back in the building!

My home life is busy as well!  I am happily married to my middle school sweat heart, Katie.  We were married on July 7, 2007 in Havre.  We have three beautiful children.  Tripp (18) is a Senior at Fergus High, Blake (15) is a Freshman at Fergus High, and JC (12) is in 6th grade here at Lewis & Clark.
